What is mobile auto detailing and how does it work?

Mobile auto detailing brings professional-grade cleaning and paint care directly to your location. You request an appointment, then we call you to discuss your needs, and confirm a date and time. Our detailer arrives at your home or office with all the equipment and products needed to complete the service on-site.


What’s the difference between a car wash and auto detailing?

A car wash removes surface dirt. Auto detailing goes much deeper — cleaning, restoring, and protecting every surface of your vehicle inside and out, including paint correction, leather conditioning, and long-term protective coatings. Detailing preserves your vehicle‘s value while a car wash just temporarily maintains appearances.


Automatic car washes use stiff brushes and harsh chemicals that can scratch your clear coat, strip wax, and damage trim and paint finishes over time. Every wash does a little damage. Most people just don’t notice until the paint looks dull or swirled. Hand detailing uses microfiber mitts, pH-balanced products, and careful technique to clean your vehicle without degrading the finish. It’s a better result and better long-term protection, whatever you drive.

Why is hand detailing better than an automatic car wash?

We need enough room to work around the vehicle comfortably. A driveway is ideal, but a parking spot at your workplace or an open area works too. We’ll confirm the setup when we schedule your appointment.

Do I need to be home during the detail?

We prefer to inspect your vehicle with you when we arrive for your detail. As long as we have a key to your vehicle, you’re welcome to get on with your day off site while we get to work. We’ll give you a call when the job is finished to go over payment details and answer any questions. Occasionally we will detail a vehicle if a client is out of town or otherwise unavailable to meet when we arrive.


How long is a detail appointment?

It depends on the service, and condition and size of the vehicle. An interior and exterior service typically each take 1.5-3 hours.


Do you specialize in any specific types of vehicles?

With more than 15 years in the business, we have detailed everything from family SUVs to high-performance vehicles and bring the same level of care and attention to every vehicle we work on. Our detailers are knowledgeable and experienced with the materials, finishes, and care requirements of different makes and models. If your vehicle has specific materials or finishes that need particular care, just mention it when you book and we’ll come prepared.


What products and equipment do you use?

How often should I have my vehicle detailed?

For most vehicles, we recommend a full detail two to four times per year. In Michigan especially, a spring detail after road salt season and a fall detail before winter are both worthwhile. Regular maintenance washes in between help protect the finish and extend the life of each detail.


How do I prepare my vehicle to get detailed?

Remove any personal belongings from the interior before our detailer arrives. Beyond that, no preparation is needed — we handle everything else.


What’s your cancellation policy?

We understand things come up and are happy to reschedule if needed. However, cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment may be subject to a $50 fee.
